Devious Maids Season 1
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
I have to say the show is a lot more than what I expected it to be. Each episode has a new twist to keep you on your toes. I cant wait for the next episode to air because I enjoy every single episode. There is a sophisticated change in story line that makes you want to keep watching because you have to know what happens in the next episode and how they get more clues that throw everything off to a whole other level. Very impressed by both the producers and the actors in this series.- Allie
This is a show very much with the same feel of Desperate Housewives, which is not unexpected given the show runners. Like that show, the women are the main characters, there are a lot of twists and turns and revolve around a main story line (here a murder of a maid who was much more than she seemed), with a bunch of ancillary stores around it. The other stories keep the main plot from dominating so much that its resolution results in the end of the series.
The show is a blend of comedy and drama. It plays up and makes fun of a lot of different stereotypes from the crazy and/or corrupt and/or lazy rich society, everyone wanting hot maids (and some pretty funny jokes about having to settle for unattractive ones). The show does a good job of developing the characters and making you care about what is going on with them. Susan Lucci steals every scene she is in, basically playing an exaggerated version (almost a caricature) of the soap opera character she played for years
For those who get the DVDs, each disc has deleted scenes. The final disc has a short making of feature based on filming in Atlanta, and a blooper reel. Not a ton there, but enough for that kind of show. If you are into the evening soap opera kinds of shows, this is definitely worth taking a look at.

What a hilarious, well-written, intriguing series! I must admit that I have been a Susan Lucci fan since I started watching All My Children at age 11 (I was so sad when it ended some years ago), and it is delightful seeing her back in action, with a similarly delicious role! I also have been a big fan of Judy Reyes since Scrubs, and it’s great to see her biting wit and wry humor back on screen. The plots are twisted and interesting, and the characters are edgy, quirky and/or genuine (usually not all three in one!) and well-developed. I stayed up way too late last night, powering through additional episodes, as they are just so much fun to watch and intriguing with the storylines. Well-done! I look forward to catching up on all of the seasons to date!
