The Walking Dead Season 9

Last season brought the culmination of “All Out War,” which pitted Rick Grimes and his group of survivors against the Saviors and their cunning leader, Negan. With Negan’s life in his hands, Rick had a character-defining choice in front of him. By making the unilateral decision to spare Negan, Rick upheld the values his late son, Carl, championed in order to build for the future, but created conflict within his group.
I thoroughly enjoyed Season 9, Episode 1 and can’t wait for the rest of the season’s shows. Soooo much better then season 8. I love the new lead in credits which are comprised somewhat of comic figures. The color of the scenery is bright and true colored unlike Fear OTWD which is in gray monotones. Season 9 takes place 1.5 years after season 8 so there is a lot of development that has taken place since the war with the saviors. There are some new characters which adds the possibility of new story lines. There is a significant demise which had me cheering. Swing high swing low! (giggle) I particularly like that all the characters are seen or discussed. It’s not one of those one person shows. It’s a Cowboy/Zombie apocalyptic soap opera, which I love. I’m out, time of death was season 8, tried season 9 hoping it would get better. It’s a little creepy how a lot of reviewers made references to “PC stuff” (same sex relationships? “interracial couples?) oh get over it. but I think relationships were overly focused on. For example, why did that story line go on so much about the priest and the salvage woman…it was so weird…no character development at all, not believable. And for what? So that we’d be shocked that a lover betrayed her lover? So soap opera…the show used to have moments of what makes apocalyptic era films so cool, Yankee ingenuity, survivalism, creating new rules in a new “land”. Yeah betrayal is a great theme when your surviving….not being able to trust people…but honestly, they didn’t do much with those issues. We are living in a era of massive change technologically, a revolution this planet has never gone thru at such a pace, even the idea of currency is changing!! ….and this is all the writers could do with those themes? Would have been cool to add more flashbacks of normal life to revive the feeling of the beginning of the show. To get deeper into issues that touch upon what’s happening now (again currency, water) or the idea of small communities something this country is shifting towards… I don’t get how the writing got so cheesy. Just reach your hand outside the window all these themes are everywhere. Watch some weirdos on YouTube for one day… lol. There’s so much extremism and preppers in this country that’s its uncanny how they couldn’t write better stuff. Let me have a stab, ask for fans to send in some story lines? Jeez. But I won’t watch, bc wow what a waste of money on this season. 40 bucks!! Yikes.
