Glee Season 5
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
Will Rachel be Broadway’s next baby? Will Blaine marry Kurt? Can the kids of New Directions win yet again at Nationals? Find out the answers to all these GLEE-related questions in season five! Tuesdays at 8/7c on FOX.
This rating is for episode Beetles II, which led season 5 in the wake of the loss of “FInn.” Somehow we missed recording it, so picking it off Amazon was a way to test Amazon Prime (a review for another time). Two things became immediately apparent: 1. Offerings on Amazon Prime are not the same as Amazon instant view, or whatever it’s called. Glee 5.2 was not available at no charge to Prime members, although other Glee seasons are. Prime advertising is misleading and does not make it explicitly clear that you don’t get the same offerings for free as the pay-per-view Amazon version. 2. The first thing I saw after plunking down my $2.99 for the HD version of Glee 5.2 was a notice that, depending on your bandwidth, you may not get the HD you’ve just paid for. Great. A CYA. It turned out my bandwidth was fine, but the contrast on the streamed version was much higher and less natural-looking than the original broadcast versions. I got used to it, but wondered. I liked the lack of advert interruptions. Especially since I paid for the stream. This incident will factor in to my decision whether to let my 30-day trial become a $79 annual subscription.
Oh, and the season? So far the writers have done OK keeping it interesting enough. I mostly watch the show for the music and especially like the (electronically corrected) close harmony versions of the cover performances. Twerking? Was that a spoof? Maybe that unpleasant gyration will fade away after enough viewers see how silly it looks.

As you probably know, season 5 is the first season of Glee to not be offered on blu-ray. The packaging is nice and the size of a normal DVD case. However, the quality and sound is still great. There are 6 discs and on the inside of the front cover there is a list of all the episodes/bonus features. The bonus features are cute, but you’re mostly just paying for the episodes here.
Bonus features include: Glee Music Jukebox, Celebrating 100 Episodes of Glee, and Glee in the City.

OMG this was AWESOME!It reminded me of those old movies from the 50’s in NYC were it makes me want to go and live in New York. I thought at first one number on top of another was to much but it just fit and clicked. I really would love to see a series based on this cast and some of the others in NYC. hint hint! The musical numbers were awesome and the plot and script were just perfect.
Leah you just sounded AWESOME on ‘People’!!!! Klaine just settle down and calm down you don’t need to rush anything and I really don’t think Blaine needs to move out just quite trying so HARD!!! We know you are a perfect couple, just chill!! Sam good for you! I still want to see Sam & Mercedes get back together! In all & all Great Show!!!! just GREAT! Would not change a thing!!!
Give me more like this!!! Give me three no five more seasons like this!
