Suits Season 4

Picked up for a fourth season, USA’s top-rated and critically-acclaimed drama series “Suits”. The series stars Gabriel Macht (“Love and Other Drugs”), SAG Award nominee Patrick J. Adams (“Luck”), Gina Torres (“Firefly”), Rick Hoffman (“Samantha Who”), Meghan Markle (“CSI: Miami”) and Sarah Rafferty (“Brothers & Sisters”).

How this series and these actors have not won multiple awards baffles me. There is so much mediocre series garbage out there which seem to get undeserved recognition, I guess it falls to folks who appreciate great stories and top notch acting to be the ones who point out how consistently terrific this series is. There is a lot to choose from, however, I prefer solid well crafted balanced writing and actors who don’t phone it in. But that’s just me once again. I long ago became tired of crappy humor that isn’t funny, snarky shallow shows, murder, mayhem and car chases. If you are terrific, you get my time. Otherwise, move along.

My husband and I are addicted to this series. It was very upsetting when we ran out of episodes to watch. This series started out as fairly lighthearted but grew in seriousness with every season. Season 4 was intense. The characters are well developed and, like real life, some are more likable then others. One of my favorite characters, is Louis Litt, he adds some comic relief and he is the bad guy you love to hate. He is petty, indulgent, insecure and jealous but he is also hardworking, brilliant and loyal to a fault. The character of Michael is the straw that stirs the drink in this show. It is what he is and what he is not that propels the action and plots of this show. His role is well acted and believable even though the situation this character finds himself is unlikely. I recommend watching Season 4 but to get full value, I recommend watching the other 3 seasons first.
