MIDSOMER MURDERS: Series 13
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
Great mystery series. Very tongue-in-cheek. It is almost humorous at times with John Nettles as the lead. He was great in his role as were his co-horts.
It is always fun to see another murder in Midsomer. One has to wonder how so many murders occur in such a small area. I would think that (if real) Midsomer would be a dreadful place to live as one would be wondering when someone would be coming at you in the middle of the night with sheers or knives or some blunt instrument of death. The most interesting episodes have been those where Mrs. Barnaby joins in the act. The humor and bantering back and forth always lent a bit of color to the dark and dreary subject of death in the dark of night.
I love it when there are plays on words or situations.
The best partner Barnaby had was DS Jones. Great side-kick with a constant sense of “is this really all happening again?” in his eyes and on his face.
It will be interesting to see the episodes following Nettles’ exit from the show. I am in Season 13 and have seen many of the older seasons a few times on our local PBS station.-Nicholas D. Gough
entertaining and thought provoking who did it. The writers of the series are honest and give clues but it requires focused watching to figure out the culprits. Conclusions can be amazing if you haven’t carefully focused on the storyline. Not much blood and gore, but almost in the line of Agatha Christie.
Not for the spatter and zombie fan, but more an intellectual exercise for a pleasant evening.-ralph c. thomas
This is one of my a all time favorite shows . I have watched each season many times, and own some episodes. I watch it on the Acorn added subscription. Even though I know all of the plots, I still prefer watching this series to anything on American T V now. The violence is usually off camera, no vulgar language, wide variety of good character actors as well as the basic cast. It is fun to see actors I have seen in other shows in this as guest victims or killer’s !- cat lady 4
