Defiance Season 3
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
Following the events of the season two cliffhanger finale, season three of Defiance opens on the eve of an impending military siege upon the town, which has fallen on hard times following the collapse of its lucrative mines.
Love this show. Am so disappointed that SYFY cancelled it. It seems SyFy is determined to get rid of all their good programming so they can give more time to crap like Sharknado. Oh goody because the world needs more bad movies, and ones that are intentionally bad. I think I will be giving SyFy a pass from now on. Not worth getting invested in something they will cancel after a season or two. SyFy really needs to give up on movies and focus solely on series which they do well. Movies they do not.

–==Defiance overall==–
An intelligent western themed sci-fi (Reminiscent of Firefly in the sense that lead actor Grant Bowler is a tough guy with a troubled past.) that continues to impress and improve.
They keep pulling it off, the world of Defiance with its incredible cast and writing and sets keeps getting it right with me.

Has been really good and the show is even showing improvement as everyone has really got there A-game on at this point in the show. While the death of some important characters upset me, it also tells a lot about the show that I’m invested enough to be upset. The story narrowing on some key characters has been a good thing for the show and I’m left wondering how the clever Tar family will come out of this and when and if Irisa will get her Mojo back!

Defiance was a genuinely original and intriguing look at the “Alien” occupation story. We find a world completely remade and still in upheaval after the arrival of not one but several alien species, with all of the racial, cultural and social baggage that comes with it. Rockne O’Bannon showed once again that he is a master of weaving together all of the minutiae of multi-species relationships and making them relevant.
It’s a shame that SyFy decided to market the series more fr its MOMPG value than for the excellence of its storytelling, and that is most likely the reason the series failed. More money for online gaming and less money for story development equals manure-brained management. I’m sure there are all sorts of “official” production stories about cost overruns and actor contracts, but the bottom line is that SyFy never saw this as a story worth telling; it was always about marketing their online brand.
So much for real Science Fiction.
