Pelé Birth of a Legend
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
Pele’s meteoric rise from the slums of Sao Paulo to leading Brazil to its first World Cup victory at the age of 17 is chronicled in this biographical drama.
This movie was so well done. The acting was amazing, minus the poor Brazilian accent attempted to be adopted by Vincent D’Onofrio for his part as coach Vicente Feola. Even the music was perfect for accenting the mood whether full of despair or delight.
Though I believe Pele should have had a movie made about him years ago, I am glad it happened now, since this movie did him justice and truly showed how much he deserved every accolade every given him and how poetically beautiful football can be when you remember there can be many right ways to do one thing, so do it the way that’s true to who you are and have fun doing it!
Finally justice has been done and now the entire world,(soccer fun or not) can catch glimpses of the greatest soccer player this world has ever seen.A truly magnificent player and human being he is and an inspiration to the current generation of young people.. His accomplishments are magnified by having played at a time when soccer rules were primitive and allowed the most violent and brutal behaviors on the field. How he survived
twenty years playing under this primitive conditions is truly a miracle. He never used drugs or any type or enhancing gimmicks as players of all sports use nowadays….again another example for our current youth generation Despite the poor conditions of of the media of his days,we can thankfully
admire his playing in the black and white and some color recordings of his games and feats as shown in “You Tube”…Hats off to the producers of this magnificent production…A five plus. Recommend without reservations.
P.S. Pele is still alive….76 years old at present and traveling around the world promoting worthy causes and of course his passion..soccer…!
