Snatched
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
I wasn’t expecting much going in based on horrible reviews. First 30 minutes were actually funny and fun. Wanda and Joan were hilarious. But then that kidnapping plot kicked in and it was mostly a downhill bore from there. They really should have focused on the relationship between mother and daughter more, and they should have used Goldie instead of having her just stand around most of the time. Goldie knows comedy, knows how to deliver a one-liner, and she’s the real actress/star here. Not utilizing her talent is the major problem with this movie. Apparently the studio didn’t even want her in the movie and it shows. Hollywood is only getting dumber.-Payne
I didn’t have high expectations for SNATCHED but I liked the mother/daughter pairing of Goldie Hawn and Amy Schumer. Much to my surprise SNATCHED has a long of funny moments after mother and daughter are kidnapped while on a trip to Ecuador. The movie starts slowly and Schumer’s character Amy is loud and annoying. She takes nothing seriously even when he boyfriend breaks up with her just before their trip to Ecuador. Schumer’s sometimes obnoxious character reminded me of so many loud and annoying Melissa McCarthy characters. Amy convinces her mother to join her on vacation–since no one else accepts her invitation. It was great to see Hawn again on screen and now playing a mature, responsible adult and not the goofy blonde she portrayed in her younger days.- Jack E. Levic
I’m ashamed to admit that I paid to watch this movie. I typically like Amy Schumer, and figured that if Goldie Hawn came back after all this time it would be for something worthwhile. I was wrong, and her performance was really terrible. While watching the movie it actually felt like Ms Hahn knew it was a flop and half-assed it. I’m really not picky when it comes to movies, but this one was really bad.-Stephanie
