Alphas House Season 1

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

John Goodman is funny as are all the cast members. Amazing how some of them remind me of some real folks on the hill. I’m looking at you Rubio. If you have no idea what this is, consider it: West Wing Meets House of Cards and they have a child with Animal House. Some political humor but not highbrow stuff. These guys could be either party – although the call themselves the GOP… the premise when it is political is not so much about platforms but about how they are always working the circuit and trying to get re-elected. On that level, the things they do or say could be either party, and I see no offence to either inasmuch as the world they live in.

Alpha House was a show that I really enjoyed and able to watch the episodes back to back since Amazon released the full season together. I think Amazon is on the right track with this first outing of original television programming. The show takes a humorous approach to how things work or more factually don’t work within Congress.

Alpha House follows four Senators who also live together in Washington, DC. The show features John Goodman as Senator Gil John Biggs, Matt Malloy as Senator Louis Laffer, Jr., Mark Consuelos as Senator Andy Guzman, and Clark Johnson Senator Robert Bettencourt. John Goodman acts as the glue within the show and he definitely carry’s the show. The shows topics vary from episode to episode but basically revolve around Re-election battles, looming indictments, party fighting, and a lot of drinking.

I enjoyed the show and I would definitely recommend it.

It’s funnier than what’s on network right now, and not because the characters cuss and show a little skin. It’s just makes the best mockery of the broken and inept men who run this country, utterly clueless, and hold the reins of control and power over the people. If more people watched this show, they’d never vote for incumbents and their party lines. The names of the characters says it all about who these characters are, Biggs (fat and lethargic; Bettencourt (in court and ethics violations, left and right; Laffer (utterly clueless, inept, passive galore, a floor mat, and laughable; Guzman (-ize woman, get it?, slick, reckless, cocky ambitious womanizer). Watch and eat your heart out.

Please please: binge watch before every election, maybe this country will turn around because of this show and you the voter waking up to the reality of government.
