Billions: Season Four

Love the show—I binge-watched all 3 seasons in 10 days. Clever, well-structured storylines, & I’m a junkie for the hard rock & movie references. BUUUUT… The introduction of Taylor’s bogus SJW gender pronoun issue was bad enough, but making it so prominent & having characters (Bobby, Wags, & Grigor) who would never acknowledge it in real life not only entertain it but strictly adhere to it—especially in scenes w/o Taylor’s presence…& particularly in S4 after what went down—is just blatant social engineering. Then, to have Connerty & Sacker pull their stunt & sabotage their integrity & pursuit of justice (everything the show spent 3 seasons cultivating), making them the frauds they were supposedly fighting against, for the fleeting settlement of a personal grudge was, as Charles Rhoades says, “a bridge to f’n far.”

OK, so everybody knows this is supposed to be about SAC and Steve Cohen. There are bits that are close to the real thing, but a lot of it is BS and Hollywood’s view of Hedge Funds. The introduction of the Taylor character in a hedge fund is laughable…. Hollywood’s PC social engineering wet dream. The episode about the quants was freaking hilarious. So far off the mark. But other aspects about discretionary hedge funds are not far from the truth. As to the criminal aspects… I can’t speak to the public prosecutor’s perspective, maybe someone else can chime in if that is realistic. Still, it is has great entertainment value and great actors. So I will continue to watch.
