Call the Midwife Season 6

Call the Midwife is my all time favorite series. I have been viewing it since it started 6 years ago.The characters and the actors who play them are wonderful. Heidi Thomas is a very talented writer; and she is brave with her subject matter. And well, Vanessa Redgrave’s voice-overs, make one feel that God is female and that this is what grace and love sound like! Waiting impatiently for season 7.

All seasons are poignant, often funny while dealing with difficult and joyful experiences of birth and family. It is an especially faithful portrayal of the period, from social issues to fashion. From music to medical issues such as drugs, addiction and family planning. Episodes dealing with the thalidomide crisis were particularly heart-rending.

This series is a good one. A way to learn what and how things were done before now. I am so glad I started it at the beginning. If you haven’t go back and start with season one. It is very entertaining.

I’m sure I would like it except closed captioning is not available and I am hearing impaired. I didn’t even think to look for this and don’t see where it says one way or the other. I really can’t understand the accent without the captions so it is useless to me.
