Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids: The Complete Series
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
i was so thrilled when I had seen the package finally arrived in the mail. I opened it up thinking it was going to be a bit bigger. But that was OK, all that mattered was that I finally got my hands on some classic cartoons. It’s great to watch these shows and to be able to re-live your childhood. Some of my favorite episodes include, “The Bully”, “Four Eyes”, and “Runt”.It never ceases to amaze me that even after all these years, these shows still make me laugh hysterically. Not that it’s all that important, but the only disappointment I have towards this collection is in regards of the episode, “Busted” In which the boys hook up with this boy who can’t stay out of trouble. While ridin’ around in a car in which the bad boy was driving, the gang later finds out that the car was stolen after the bad boy tried to outrun the police. One of the police officers paid a visit to the boys’ homes and told them he thinks they should pay a visit to prison to see what it’s like. A ‘scared straight’ tactic. Anyway, it boils down to the part when there was some bad language in the original airing of that particular episode, and i had noticed that some of the dialogue was taken out. I was, like, “Damn!” Other than that, this collection was great! I highly recommend this to anyone considering purchasing it. Go on, kick back and re-live your childhood, and if you’ve got kids, show it to them. They’ll love it! Let’s face it, classic television is timeless, it’ll never go out of style.

I loved Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids when I was growing up. It was great entertainment with important moral messages. Of course, when the collection came out on box set, the forty-something kid in me really wanted to revisit those episodes. Sometimes the issues were serious; sometimes they were funny, but all were valuable at some level.
The passage of time has made me see that some things are dated and stereotypical, but the messages are wholesome. I don’t expect this review to help anyone make up his or her mind about buying this boxset, but sometimes just plain, old, joyful “kid stuff” is just what a person needs to refresh his or her spirit!

I enjoyed the Fat Albert series from its CBS run. Although the animation was “Typical Filmation” with repeated character designs, poses, and movements and a loud laugh track…the gentle humor from the live-action Bill Cosby, the funny character dialogue, and the varied life lessons taught in each episode made the series a comfortable watch. My local channel carried the syndicated episodes for only a half a season before it was dropped from the schedule so I never viewed the complete run until the purchase of this set.
With a world of nice and not-so-nice people, this series is a good funny subtle reminder that one can always better one self when dealing with others from time to time after watching some episodes.
