Game of Thrones: The Complete Series

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

Game of Thrones, one of the most unique, complex, character-driven, expensive, beautifully shot TV shows of all time ended on a whimper, and so the crazy fandom (especially online fandom) decided to sabotage it’s previous greatness by down voting every single thing that allows viewer ratings because apparently that’s a reasonable way to rate something….. Just because the show hurt your feelings???

This mentality is not normal, and it’s why I hate being a fan of movies and TV shows that have a very active fan-base because one bad move and the franchise in question is “ruined” – see Star Wars, LOST, Veronica Mars and Harry Potter/Wizarding World.

The one fundamental flaw I saw in the final season of GoT was that it was rushed to hell, but I genuinely believe the “character assassination” argument is total nonsense, especially in regards to Dany and Jaime.

Was it the best season ever? Not even close….

Was it the monster the angry fandom believe it is? NOT EVEN CLOSE…..

Compare it the majority of seasons of TV and it’s a winner IMO. But i bet those that hate it, think The Boys is the best thing since sliced bread, or believe Supernatural is still hitting it out of the park…. It was a flawed season full of cliches/tropes/contrivances, but that’s not at all dissimilar to the rubbish people lap up and call amazing.
It was just not a very good Game of Thrones season.

Now that’s out of the way, I thought this show was overrated up until March of this year, I would watch it every year, but didn’t see what the fuss was about, and then, I re-watched it all in time for the final season and I fell head over heels in love with it, yeah, it still has it’s weak spots (especially the later seasons), but seasons 1-4 are easily amongst some of the best TV has had to offer and it amazes me that 6 episodes (or 13 if you include the maligned 7th season),can negate the storytelling of those 4 seasons….. It doesn’t, it never will.

People are saying now that GoT has sh4t the bed, Breaking Bad is the grand maester of TV (see what I did there?) but seasons 1-4 of GoT are better than the entirety of BrBa IMO (Also just re-watched that, and although I changed my opinion on it, it’s still the most overrated show of all time, it still has it’s very weak spots, especially the middle of every season)
Game of Thrones will now be marred by it’s ending and it’s a shame because it’s still easily one of the greatest shows of all time, despite what this toxic fandom say.

That final season wasn’t even just a failure, it was like… a calculated assassination of a work of art. It was permanently damaging insult to millions of devoted fans who followed this series for NINE YEARS, just to see it crumble into rushed, lazy, careless, incoherent, haphazard, senseless rubbish in its final season because the greedy, soulless showrunners wanted to move on to Star Wars instead of giving their existing series a proper ending. (And it’s ironic because now they’ve signed on with Netflix and likely won’t be producing any Star Wars anyways. But thank goodness for that.)
