Grimm Season 6

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

In the sixth and final season of “Grimm”, Nick Burkhardt must look to his ancestors for strength to save the world from a terrifying end as he faces off against a seemingly unbeatable foe.

Fans of “Grimm,” the quirky blend of police procedural and fantasy, already know that the Portland-filmed NBC series will end with its sixth season.

But many of us aren’t quite ready to say goodbye to Nick (David Giuntoli), the Portland Police Bureau’s most supernaturally gifted detective, or even those nefarious Wesen creatures Nick can spot lurking beneath the ordinary-looking surface of all sorts of Portlanders.

And that’s not even counting the sniffles and sobs “Grimm” devotees may choke back at the thought of bidding farewell to Nick’s Scooby Gang of friends, colleagues, old girlfriends, and former enemies-turned-loved-ones, including Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell), Rosalee (Bree Turner), Hank (Russell Hornsby), Sgt. Wu (Reggie Lee), Juliette/Eve (Bitsie Tulloch, who is billed as Elizabeth Tulloch in the season-opener) and Adalind (Claire Coffee.)

At least the gang’s all here in the “Grimm” Season 6 premiere, including Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz), Nick’s boss at the police force, who has gone from being a sworn enemy to kind of an ally, back to being a sworn enemy. Just to make sure we don’t miss anybody, Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni), the young Grimm who Nick helped train, is also on hand. We even get to see our beloved Bud (Danny Bruno), the ever-excitable refrigerator repairman who Nick can count on for help – and a lot of worried chatter.

Tonight’s episode is entitled “Fugitive.” When I think of fugitives, my mind wanders to Harrison Ford or Wesley Snipes and Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive or U.S. Marshalls. David Giuntoli isn’t any of those actors, and he needn’t be to complete his role in the final season of Grimm.

Heroes come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Idris Elba or Chris Hemsworth would’ve been interesting choices if they were up-and-coming actors when the show was originally cast, if not for their physicality and brute strength.

Neither would’ve been contained and fulfilled in Portland. It’s taken me several years to finally accept that The Brothers Grimm story world had to be bigger than the male lead. The slight build of the actor might’ve been purposeful for fans to identify with him as Everyman, something we wouldn’t have done with Idris or Chris. The obstacles and villains over these past six seasons had to be formidable for the featherweight actor, if only for him to rise up, overcome, and grow.
