Hawaii Five-0: Season 5
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
In the 5th season of Hawaii Five-0, McGarrett continues to try to bring closure to his father’s case and closure to his mother’s past, while the state’s brash Five-O unit, who may spar and jest among themselves, remain determined to eliminate the seedy elements from the 50th state.
This is an awesome show, but if you don’t already know that, this isn’t the place to start. Go back, start with Season 1 and watch them all. It’s the only way.
Now, if you already know it’s a great show, then my review isn’t going to change your mind.
I love the characters in the show. Steve and Danny fight and bicker constantly, but they love each other and would die for one another. They are brothers, by choice, not blood. Kono and Chin are cousins by blood, but by so much more than that. They trust and respect each other, encourage each other. Kamekono started out as a CI, and now he’s both a friend and family as well. Jerry-wow-Jerry is just a riot. (If you’ve ever seen Bones, know that Jerry can put Dr. Hogins to shame in the conspiracy theory department without blinking an eye.) Danny’s daughter, Grace, is adorable. I’ve enjoyed watching her grow on the show and I hope we see more of her in time. And don’t forget Lou, Max and Adam. The show is just full of personality and I enjoy watching both the new episodes and the reruns!
The only thing missing from this season is Catherine.

When I first saw the advertisements for this show, I wrote it off as just another lame Hollywood reboot. But recently I decided to give it a try when it came on Netflix. I was totally wrong that it would be lame. I spent the last month or so binge watching the first 4 seasons and now I’m streaming season 5 here on Amazon. Its a very good show with good characters, great actors, and compelling storylines. Some of action scenes can get a bit corny, but overall a verty hearty two thumbs up.

This is one of my favorite shows on TV right now. This reboot of this classic show creates the perfect marriage between the crime drama and the action/adventure genres. I’m consistently amazed on the production value packed into each episode, though perhaps we have Chevrolet’s blatant product placement to thank for that… not that I mind, the Camarro is awesome. The acting is great, the characters are likable, and I give this show a well-deserved five stars.
