Janet King Series 3

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

This was a highly entertaining series. However, of all of the Janet King series, this was my least favourite.
I am not sure if that was because it was more contrived, of whether it is because the arena in which all the drama unfolds – that of illegal sports
gambling – is one which holds no interest for me whatsoever.
Nonetheless, the characters, the interrelationships, the professional and unprofessional games people play in their own self interests, the honest, the corrupt, the safe, the threatening is all performed in dramatic and even subtle style. The subtexts- like the impact of Janet’s unresolved issues with her father – play out in courageous real messy human time. Sacrifices are made. Compromises are made. There is a price to pay, both emotionally and fiscally. There is winning, but at what cost? And to whom?
Overall this is excellent, but not as captivating, interesting or plausible as any of the previous series.
And on another completely mundane and separate note: why on earth do they dress lovely long lean Marta in such antiquated prissy ugly attire??
Even her pant suits, by far the better option, do not flatter her, because the waist is too high, the blouses are frilly girly ridiculous, the shoes …..well they are okay! Please find a female designer with a modern aesthetic to dress our main protagonist.

Great series! But the WHOLE SEASON WAS ALREADY AIRED!! WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT!! All of the sudden we are waiting for releases in series done in 2014 and 2008!! (If is really just aired, like new HBO episodes, then is different) But to wait weekly for them to release whenever they feel like it is not why we are here paying for Prime, and extra for not prime seasons and extra for channels… BAD BAD BAD MARKETING DECISION. How many of us pays gladly because we like to watch seasons and we are NOT INTERESED in a old TV/cable style when they try to keep us “in the edge of the seat”? I liked what I was paying for, my WHOLE SEASONS well seated on the couch, and NO!, I do not like to say “I can’t wait!”, because I’m paying a lot of money here not to wait. Not a very bright idea Amazon Video. I know, I’m angry.
