Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
In this modern age of streaming services physical releases have really been targeting the collectors who want to actually own things instead of being subjected to license agreements and shifting availability on streaming platforms. So when Mill Creek announced this set, I was very excited. In the last several years I had started to become really impressed with their releases. Long ago are the days where Mill Creek just meant 100 public domain movies in a $10 box set. They were getting serious. Cut to today when I received this box set and was majorly letdown.
Instead of getting each season in its own thin pack case, a large plastic case with plastic leaflets holding the discs, or even a case with spindles that hold a couple discs on each one; we get several pieces of cardboard that sleeve a disc on each side. This is really really unacceptable. Not only is it a pain to locate a disc to watch, the flimsy piece of paper at the top of the chipboard box is easily lost and will eventually let a lot of dust settle in the bottom of the box. I cannot believe in 2018 a company is seriously putting this kind of packaging out there. It totally soured any happiness I had in getting this set when the physical presentation is a large part in owning physical media.
Mill Creek put so much work into the content of the discs that they phoned in the packaging so hard that it will make me think twice about my future purchases from them.

okay…I JUST got my pre-ordered ‘KIDS IN THE HALL’ …’the COMPLETE COLLECTION-ALL EPISODES UNCENSORED-out of my mailbox…I ran to the box mere seconds after our mail lady closed the door. Excitedly, I LOVED ‘KIDS IN THE HALL’ and have ever since the original days on HBO, I tore open the packaging. DUN DUN DUNNNNN….!!! Ouch!!! The packaging is ATROCIOUS…actually, atrocious would be an aspiration. This review is going to require an update. With packaging…outer AND inner…THIS bad…i’m kind of hesitant to start inspecting the actual contents. All of the other reviews, so far, have been dead-on to what i’m holding in my disappointed hands. The only thing that could redeem this poor packaging is if the contents make me forget about how they’re going to be stored…forever?! I shall update later today with what I hope is my valentine’s day treasure trove of goodies. After so many years and replacing all my original dvd’s this SHOULD be my final ‘KIDS IN THE HALL’ purchase.

This DVD box set has to be the worst packaging I have ever seen. A very cheap cardboard box with a false top, plus cheap inserts to hold one DVD on each side. Besides that, I did a quick preview of most of the DVDs and can’t find some of my favorite sketches (Chicken Lady, Office Ladies, Buddy). Not sure if I just can’t find them or if this is really not the complete series. They spared every expense in putting this together.
