Person of Interest Season 3

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

It seems like some shows come out & are very good the 1st & sometimes second season, but by the time the 3rd season rolls around they start to lose their spark. Well, I’m here to tell u that is NOT the case with POI. It is good, VERY GOOD! It seems to me like they’re getting better & better. Which is generally pretty hard for a show to do. Most of the time a show is cancelled b4 or during its 3rd season. So it really surprises me that the writers of this show are getting better & better with each episode. Not to mention the actors. They are fabulous:) The actors/actresses are flawless, it just comes so natural to them. They make it easy to watch & root for them.
I’m super excited they brought Shaw on full time as part of the team. When I seen the 1st episode she was in, I said right then, it would be awesome if she joined the cast full-time. They needed another girl & a bada$$ like Shaw fulfilled the team. Put it this way, this not like all the cop dramas u see on TV, this show has its own unique storyline. If you like action, drama, and suspense then you’re going to love this show. IT TRULY IS AMAZING and if you’ve given it enough thought to read the reviews then it’s definitely worth it to watch. You will not be disappointed.

Person of Interest is so good that, unlike its beleaguered characters, I’m not ever compelled to plan an exit strategy. It’s a show that at first I was like “Huh?” and then I was like “What the f-!” and then I was like “AHHHHH!!” P.O.I. is television’s sneakiest drama. Season 3 is still very much a serialized product but, more and more, it seeps in its overarching mythology and expands its universe. Season 3’s primary trajectory revolves around the awakening of Samaritan, a terrifying rival artificial intelligence unchecked by the set of ethics Finch had governed into The Machine. Seriously, there’s a strong vibe here of what it must’ve been like just before Skynet got activated. Cue the various shadow agencies and espionage operators at cross purposes and the running debates re techno-theology, with Root as the Machine’s analog interface (and its raving apostle) and Finch as the Doubting Thomas. We also get tragic resolution to the HR conspiracy even as the Control, Vigilance, and Decima threads are progressed.

I don’t watch a lot of TV, but I found myself completely addicted to Lost. When I saw that the creators of Lost were involved with POI, I was interested, but to be perfectly honest, when I heard that Bear, a belgian malinois, appeared on the show, I decided I had to give it a try. I started with the first season and I’m so glad I did. I love the premise and much like Lost, I think the overall quality of the production is head and shoulders better than anything else I see on television. The writing, acting, and technical details (including the fight scenes, according to my combat trained husband) are really well done – flashy enough to be entertaining and satisfying, but not ridiculous.

Season three was probably the most uneven of the three so far, but nonetheless riveting. The acting continues to be flawless, but there were a couple of moments when the writing was eyebrow-raising. Not awful but a couple of moments of “huh? really?” did occur. The central concept – the issues of surveillance, artificial intelligence, and humanity – get a little buried in the three episode subplot regarding the police corruption, and the resolution of that subplot was surprising and heartbreaking. It was a relief to get back to the Machine after running around after bad cops and gangsters for a few episodes.

Even when the writing misses a beat or a directorial decision is questioned, the acting is spot on and the cast has great chemistry. I will be watching every episode, and am truly fascinated by the ideas presented. It is a TV show that I find myself pondering during the day, not forgettable fluff!
