Riverdale Season 2

I’m not a teenager. I’m a mom living in the closet. But I absolutely love this series. I watched season 1 on Netflix, but I couldn’t wait for season 2 to come out so bought it on Amazon. I don’t usually rewatch tv shows often, but I have rewatched this one a few times. The acting is top notch. Kudos to casting director. Well written, and some amazing musical numbers. Very talented actors. In case you don’t know, this is based on the Archie comics, but writers have taken artistic license, and for the better. They made a few changes to character personalities, particuarly to Veronica, which makes me happy because she is my favorite on the show. The show has been described as darkly riveting and visually brilliant. That is an accurate description. The visuals are incredible with exceptional detail given to them. Parents watching will also appreciate the casting of the parents in the show. Most all are from well know programs in the 90’s with guest appearances by Molly Ringwald as Archies mom. I could really keep raving, but you just have to see it for yourself. Try out season 1 on netflix like I did and binge watch 🙂

I loved season 1. A lot.

But the plot here, and a lot of the character development, just wasn’t there for me. There wasn’t anything about the different plots that made me think, and the season didn’t feel as connected. Characters would do things and I wouldn’t believe it fit with their personality. I was bored for a majority of the season, probably partially because it wasn’t as funny. But I watch shows for characters, and season 2 didn’t deliver in that regard.

I’m horrible at explaining my feelings when it comes to TV shows.

I don’t know. There were a few episodes I really did like–like the Carrie episode–but I’ve grown tired of these characters’ drama and won’t be continuing the show unless someone convinces me it gets better.

I love this season so far! The plot is especially good in my opinion, it captivated me, pulled me in to watch. I binge watched 18 episodes so far. I cannot wait to watch some more episodes. I recommend watching this show if you are a fan of Riverdale. I was skeptical to buy Riverdale season 2 but I am glad I did. I really loved the chapter development of Cheryl Blossom. She is just not the mean girl, and love how they added the story to her.
