The Middle is one of my favorite TV shows. Season 7 is a hoot with Mike going through a mid-life crisis, then going all in on his brother’s diaper business. Sue is off to college and Axl adjusting to life with his sister there. I’ve never seen a show adjust to sending one kid off to college, let alone two. It’s fun seeing the family mature, but the humor remain the same. It also takes great advantage of its recurring roles. Sean Donahue and his mother battle over his “hippie” phase, and Mike’s brother (Norm MacDonald) is absolute gold this year! Almost all of the episodes are great, but “The Wisdom Teeth” and “A Very Donahue Vacation” definitely are at the top! The Middle is one of the hilarious, feel-good comedies. It has a lot of heart, and the characters care about each other. What more can you ask for?- MJ
The Middle is my favorite show and have religiously watched since the first episode. I can find pieces or even chunksof my life in every jumble they get in to. My kids love it and we often watch the DVD sn we can binge watch without commercials. I own every season except the one airing and i will purchase as soon as it is available.
The characters are individually developed enough to carry their own sub plots yet together are seamless as an ensemble. There one shout out i must give to…Sue Sue Heck..we all need a little bit of her optimism in our lives and Eden Sher is going to have a difficult time shedding Sue when someday (hopefully not until there are old and grey) the show is over. We are hooked on this series. Think of the Middle as what you would get if you mixed “Malcolm in the Middle” with “Leave it to Beaver”! The actors and writing make it what it is. Patricia Heaton is my favorite. Well developed characters and consistent storylines, intelligently written. Nothing really objectionable (unlike “Married with Children”), although the dysfunctional nature of the Hecks can be scary at times, it’s meant to be over the top. The reality of many of the family situations, although a bit exaggerated (sometimes not) is somewhat reassuring. You’ll find much to identify with.-George C.
