The first-and best-personification of The Saint on television, these black and white episodes comprising the first two seasons of this British ITV series boast clear transfers and audio, and are sporadically accompanied by commentary from Roger Moore and co-stars. For those of you who only know Roger Moore from the James Bond films, my advice is to get a frontal lobotomy, order this action-adventure series set in the early 60’s, and watch a skilled actor personify true cool as he travels the globe as a “reformed” jewel thief operating inside-and mostly outside-the law to preserve the status quo ante.- SteveG

What can I say. The Saint is definitely a British high class act of the rarest order. The Saint acts for all the right reasons, unlike today’s Hollywood post-modern nihilism garbage. The Saint is an archetypal hero battling the evils of the world with panache and inventive plots. None of the formulaic filler we see so much of now. Roger Moore was made for this character of whit and sterling character, something we see little of these days.- Roy
