Timeless Season 1

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

This little gem of a show deserves second season if ever there was a show that did. It tells the story of a person on a mission to eliminate the shadow organization that killed his family. He steals a Time machine and goes back and forth in Time trying to make this happen. However, when he does, small changes take place. The good guys use the backup to chase him all through history as they try to stop him. The first season ending was perfectly set up to lead into the 2nd season, but it looks like NBC does not have the guts to do so. (A little of my opinion showing?) None the less, this offering offers you a chance to see how it turns out. My pet gripe is that the show was filmed in HD and the release is only on DVD ! Why did SONY have to take an extra step before releasing this show?- Robert Abel

Really glad I took a chance and ordered this DVD set from Amazon. I had enjoyed similar TV series like Quantum Leap and Sliders, so decided to give this one a try and did not regret it as it’s now one of my favorite new shows and I look forward to getting season 2 when it’s available.

Don’t worry about the many minor historical, scientific, and tactical mistakes and just have a good time watching it. There’s lot of humor in the team’s interaction with various historical characters during their missions and the false names they use to conceal their true identities are quite funny. The sinister organization which seems to be secretly controlling the good guys and gals behind the scenes, and the target of the villain(s) seeking revenge on it, adds to the intrigue and suspense. With an endless number of important past events which could be diabolically altered to change American and world history, the intrepid team of Lucy, Wyatt, and Rufus will need numerous TV seasons to resolve it, and let’s hope there will be many more future episodes to come.

Looks very expensive to produce with all the different settings, locations and cast. The historical research may have had a lot of Wikipedia to it but at least the effort was often made to get an actor that resembled the real counterpart (The murder of Jesse James, character Bass Reeves,- the actor used actually looked like him). I found the stories very interesting even if even the “good guys” seemed to make more messes than they fixed. When do time travel series ever not have problems.
My worst bit was actor Matt Lanter, Wyatt, the guy never went on a mission looking shaved…and never carried a period appropriate handgun (Lanter might’ve been all right for the part but somebody got those two bits very wrong.- A. Burchfield
