Alien Covenant

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

I would have preferred a “Shaw & David finding & exploring the Engineers world” movie, to be perfectly honest. We get some of that here, but only briefly in flashbacks (and the “Prelude” trailer you can easily find on Youtube). While I was disappointed in the drastic change of pace from Prometheus, I still thought it was a solid movie and a good addition to the Alien mythology.I’m trying to be spoiler free here, so I’ll say only this: If you were a fan of the first two movies in the franchise, and you enjoyed Prometheus, Alien: Covenant should be exactly your cup of tea. You have the crew with their movie-cliche personalities, you have sci-fi space action, you have an android, you have Aliens (new types, as well as the familiar old ones), and of course you have some “twists” towards the end. I thought the final twist at the end of Alien Covenant was especially satisfying.Worth buying (or at least renting) if you’re at all a fan of the franchise (and I admit, I’m a fan of the whole Alien mythology).-Jonathan D. I’m a huge fan of the original three films….and Prometheus was decent. But Covenant is just bad. Spoiler alert: The concept of “bad synthetic kills all the engineers and creates the classic Alien creature” just strikes me as lazy storytelling – a desperate attempt to link the original 4 films to Prometheus in one film. I wish the makers would have taken more time (perhaps 2 films) to flesh out something more for serious science fiction fans. A wasted opportunity.-patrick

A lot of others review it as bad, but personally I think its a great movie and if you watch it a couple of times you will understand more about this cross between the two movies!I do think some of the cast members could have been better selected…but that part still didn’t change my mind on this being a great movie, But glad to have seen actor Michael Fassbender was there again in a great role…Sorry cant give anything away on his part though…You gotta see the movie!-Aladdin Sane
