Alpha

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

There’s a visual purity about the new movie “Alpha” which isn’t seen much in motion pictures since Stanley Kubrick departed the scene in 1999. The movie looks almost as if it was produced in an airless and sterile environment, despite the characters’ sometimes smearing themselves with mud, paint, or another semi-solid liquid in preparation for a hunt or a ceremony. During its opening scenes “Alpha” resembles nothing so much as the first twenty minutes of Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey,” depicting the Dawn of Man.Set 20,000 years ago during the Ice Age, in “Alpha” young Keda, the adolescent son of the tribal leader Tau, is badly mauled and ravaged by a marauding bison during his first hunt. Thrown over an impossibly steep cliff by the rampaging beast and landing on a narrow ledge, the boy is presumed dead by the other hunters and deserted by the tribe. But after a few days, Keda regains consciousness, and sets about the business of survival. Carl Schultz

I was really bummed this movie sucked so bad! I would give it zero stars if I could. Several reasons why I hated this movie so much is because…#1. The whole movie is in subtitles. They don’t go by in the blink of an eye which is nice, but I hate reading subtitles through an entire movie. #2. The story is too far fetched. There’s NO possible way that anyone could’ve survived the incident the son was in. Even IF, someone survived that incident, the wounds that he received would be enough to make him die a slow miserable death, but not here. Lastly, #3. I felt like they rushed this movie and ran out of ideas, so, incomes the story of “White Fang” with a little tweak to how this kid and wolf become friends. I also thought the weather scenes were so brutal that nobody could survive them. These weather scenes were about as bad as they were in “The Revenant”. I definitely don’t recommend this movie, but it’s your choice.- Rich Whitcomb

This movie from the driving of moving vehicle with the green screen projection bad layering. To the worst acting of all time from all the wwe superstars. I seen better home films then this higher budget movie. I really like a refund and charge them for counseling to get this flaming pile of crap out of my mind!- Tombstone-X
