Batman Ninja

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

Batman Ninja feels like a dare, or a drunken late night conversation, or a fanboy argument came to life. It is, quite literally “Time Travel Accident Sends Batman And Company Back In Time.” That summary, by the way, is the most normal part of this. The rest of it is INSANE. This is a film where the FIFTH weirdest thing is Robin (the latest one) using a magic flute to summon a monkey army. This is a film where Gorilla Grodd hangs out in a hot springs. This is a film where – again I am not making this up – superhero Red Hood gives his horse its own mask. It feels like a kind of pop-art explosion.Visually, it’s impressive, though the cgi elements are annoying in some points – though the sheer imagination and grandeur make up for it. It’s a wonderful job visually.-Steven Savage

Pro 1. To see Batman through the eyes of another culture is always illuminating. Since Batman has such a solid footing as a Samurai and a Ninja, this should have particular meaning in the interpretation. Stress on the “should have”.Pro 2. Visually this film is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I was amused to hear that this level of detail was more appreciated with the “overseas market” than at home. It appears that the Japanese do not like this stylePro or Con. You decide. The name of the movie is Batman Ninja. Watching this film you may be forgiven to think the name should be Batman vs the Transformers. (or is it Batman vs the Arkam Power Rangers?) If you like big Japanese Robots, you will probably love this film. If you can take them or leave them, you will need to make your own decision. If you are (like me) put off by the robots in Feudal Japan, then you may want to consider if you really want to see this movie-E. L. SUMMERS
