Chicago Fire Season 6

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

I have been a fan of CF since the beginning. Alas this season the writing has dropped off. They have become consumed with focusing on “drama” between the individuals (e.g. Kelly / Casey) and it’s petty stuff that really holds little interest to the story. They have lost focus on what made CF great which is watching the action and now it feels like the “odd” fire is just a interlude for a few moments each show. I wonder if they had their budget cut (that’s what it feels like as now it’s all set in the fire house with minimal action). They did do one with an entrapment under a collapsing car park and it felt for a moment they were getting back to the classic CF style, but it soon reverted to soap format with little substance. Writers if you ever read reviews please focus on the fire fighting and EMT work in the field, it’s what made this show fantastic, so please bring it back.- SBkr

This show used to be a great adventure with complicated rescues and great special effects in almost all shows. The attraction for me was watching the variety of rescues and firefighting. Now it has become a soap opera where the characters rarely leave the firehouse for a few minutes of not very exciting action. The acting is good, but the writing leans toward making Gaby take on some crusade that Casey reluctantly signs on to in order to please her. Really, they are the grimmest couple! Severide will generally jump on any woman who comes around. He vacillates between being a highly competent rescue/firefighter and being a weak willed jerk. People do have more than one side to their characters, but the way his character is written is ridiculous. The other characters add some much needed comic relief and are very good. Stella and Silvie rule! We just need more of the action and good writing that the series had at its beginning!!-LindaM
