I’m the series’ most ardent viewer, having seen every episode, every series a million times over the years. When I want to escape from life’s hardships, I watch Doc Martin, and I’m grounded again. I’m transported into another place where I experience tranquility and goodness in a small village with its quirky but wholesome characters. Series 9 sounds like it’ll be the best series yet, and if so, I beg everyone involved in producing Doc Martin, please do not let this be the last series! I’m so happy to hear Stewart Wright returning, even if only as a guest. I prayed for his return, and I miss him dearly. It’ll be interesting to see Selina Cadell’s daughter perform a part as Miss Tishell’s cousin’s daughter. Selina Cadell is a brilliant actress. I’m tickled pink to hear Al and Morwena will get married. They are such good souls, but most of all, I’m delighted to hear that Martin and Louisa’s marriage is thriving! Yes, we need to see good married role models at a time when society’s divorce rate is so high. In a world full of darkness, pain, and sorrow, this show shines a bright beam of light that emanates love, hope, and joy. Series 10, 11, 12, etc. are in big demand!

I don’t watch a great deal of television because there are few series that I find enjoyable and do continue to enjoy. I began several series late into Doc Martin, as I didn’t find it until 2018 and
well, I’ve binge-watched each season through season 8! I have been looking forward to season 9, and dearly hope that there are more seasons ahead. I am so glad to have it on Amazon Prime!
The acting is realistic, the characters and storylines are such fun and, of course, who doesn’t like visiting Port Wenn each week?

I no doubt will mimic what many have said before me but I believe Doc Martin to be some of the very best story telling I have seen in my 75 plus years. The series manages to pull together a superb cast of actors placing them in a setting that is so enticing and beautiful it makes you want to call your travel agent to see it for yourself. The icing on the cake is how the series manages to capture the nuances of the delightful British culture and how they manage to make the various characters so relatable. The Doc Martin series is truly a treasure and I have even recommended it for watching to my family physician. Please many more seasons!
