Duck Dynasty Season 3
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
Season 3 has the same feel and style as Season 1 and 2. It’s still totally contrived but the contrived circumstances are entertaining and funny. Each character has a personality that is further developed in this season.
Pros:
– No sex, nudity, or profanity. (What a welcome relief!)
– Traditional family values are a virtue. Many episodes end with a light-hearted prayer around the dinner table where Jesus’ name (gasp!) is invoked.
– Funny, contrived redneck behavior. (C’mon, these guys run a multi-million dollar business that has spanned decades: They’re just putting on an act when they behave silly, uneducated or otherwise.)
Cons:
– Like Season 1 and 2, there are still a few occasions when I see them discharging firearms in a way that I think is risky (e.g. shooting in the air or shooting at targets close to themselves or others).
I appreciate watching a TV show that really is family friendly rather than one that is purposely designed to be as shocking and as immoral as possible. Good work, Robertson’s!

I’m not that kind of guy who likes to watch reality shows (or watch a lot of TV for that matter), and I guess you can’t say this is a reality show per se, but what I like is that this one is of those you can classify as a real family show (something you don’t find nowadays on TV), you don’t have to worry if you kids are alone watching it.
I like the fact the Robertsons show themselves as they are, no masks, no watching over the shoulder because they have money. They remember their roots, where they come from, and just keep being who they are, a family who loves each other, spend quality time together and support each other all the time. A family who started their business in a humble building, and their hard work was blessed with what they have now.
What you can expect from the DVD is lots of fun (especially with Si), christian values, hunting and a family presenting everyday situations… oh and lot of funny Vietnam anecdotes/stories brought to you by Si. Plus, the 3D sleeve it’s a nice touch along with the extra footage.
I really like it, it’s one of my favorite shows.
A+ for me.

They’re back by popular demand, those lovable rednecks, their “yuppie” wives (as Patriarch Phil labels them), and generally quite kids (although each passing season does portray them more). One of the few shows my entire family considers worthy of our time. Hollyweird doesn’t understand, and each year predicts it’s just a passing fad for simple-minded southerners, “proclaiming themselves to be wise, they are as fools”…
In an increasingly pagan world of debauchery and sex – sex and more sex – represented from the likes of pitiful shows on the ABC “family” channel to VH1 showing Miley Cyrus swinging naked from a demolition ball and chain, where Hollywood thinks America really wants to see that crap, Duck Dynasty shows the “experts” are full of hot air. People – at least between the two coasts – want to see good quality family programming with MORALITY.
Each less than 30 minute episode on each disk (with commercials edited out of course) reveals a tight-knit HILARIOUS Christian family that isn’t afraid to fulfil Christ’s great commision to each of us to openly proclaim his gospel of mankind’s salvation through Jesus, and NO other.
Filled with excellent humor, from uncle Si’s highly elaborated stories, to Will’s sarcastic wit (usually centered around his “slacker” brother Jase’s wild antics), and crowned by Patriarch Phil’s sarcastic commentary on life in general, makes for great family entertainment, with each episode reminiciant of the “Seinfeld” formula, with a show thatg might be centered around something as simly as Willie’s daughter’s lack of driving skills (run for that loading dock Willie! your daughter is backing up!!).
Concluding each episode with the entire clan around a table with a prayer being said before eating, along with Willie’s commentary on a a life lesson learned during the episode – makes for a show you can relax to watch, knowing you wont have to keep your finger on the remote control channel button to keep your kids from seeing, hearing or speaking evil learned from Hollyweird…
