Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

I’ve been a major fan of Gilmore Girls ever since I saw the episodes on TV. I own all of the seasons and some days, I really enjoy grabbing a season and putting in a disc just to relax and have a good laugh. Last year, I was ecstatic when I heard Netflix was releasing the four seasons of A Year in the Life! When I saw they were being released on DVD this year, I figured it only made sense to buy it since I have the rest of the collection so I pre-ordered it.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life: Season One contains the four seasons of the Netflix series. They are entitled: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall, in that order. The entire season is 368 minutes so each episode is about 90 minutes long. There are no extras and many of the same characters from the original seven seasons make appearances, which was fun to see.

I had forgotten most of what happened since it’s been a year so I was excited to watch them again! I have mixed feelings about this season but mostly liked it. There are definitely some head-scratchers (like Stars Hollow: The Musical?????) but the same witty comments and conversations remain so that was nice to see again. Sometimes it seemed like a few of the characters hadn’t changed at all in ten years which I suppose is bound to happen. Rory seems a bit lost but I also think that happens when you aren’t sure which direction to take in life.

Overall, I liked this season but didn’t love it. I enjoyed the quick wit and there is still plenty of humor and Gilmorisms! I’m glad I got it since it’s my favorite show and I will watch any future seasons if they decide to release more. I think if you are a Gilmore Girls fan, you will want to watch it but you may not enjoy it as much as the regular seasons. It’s hard to resist the charming town of Stars Hollow!

I loved Gilmore Girls so I bought this. I liked seeing everyone again, but it was just bad. They completely screwed up 90% of the characters, Emily’s was the worst and Rory was second. I’m supposed to believe that Rory, who at the end of the series was graduating Yale and going off to follow/write about future President Obama, has turned out to have done next to nothing and is shacking up with Logan even though he’s engaged???? PLEASE. The only great part was Lorelei’s memory of her dad. There was so much of this that was beyond disappointing and I’m going to pretend that it never happened.

this tv show … the Gilmore Girls … i think every one needs to see it. a must see … this 4 (spring, summer, fall and winter episodes) not that i hate them … but i never thought it would end the way it does??! i did watch it when i had Netflix. now don’t get me wrong i enjoyed it …but if you watched the show … trying not to reveal anything in case u have either the show or this 4 episodes? Roy has a time … where she and her mother Lorelei don’t get a long … that is not much right?! but a very similar moment … happens in this new ones … i know mothers and daughters don’t get along but i think Roy would have a different outcome … they are different people. i am curious how the writers … or whom ever did this show … came up with the results? i got them … ’cause i enjoy them and feel it is fun to see the characters again. i love them all … they are like a family. u enjoy them so … i have missed them. i miss Mr. Gilmore. he did pass in 2014, such a loss for the world. break my heart. what a man .. both on the show and in his other acting career ..l have found so many great movies … like early 80s that he play such amazing roles … such as The Emperor’s Club (2002) The Man with One Red Shoe (1985) … i had never seen either and glad to see them … add them to my “must see Movies” i know there are more but i am drawing a blank at this moment??!
