Jigsaw

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

Jigsaw: 7 out of 10: Hey it is a Saw movie. Questions abound in the eighth film in the series such as is “The Jigsaw Killer”, John Kramer still alive? Is there a copycat killer? What is up with the corrupt detective or the war veteran coroner who looks just like Dexter. Needless to say, victims and traps abound as there is murdering and revenge afoot. The Good: There are some very nice traps in this one. The this shotgun shell is the key to your escape is probably being one of the best of the series. The film itself is well directed with a very good pace. There are plenty of characters (trap fodder) and the movie wastes no time getting to the reason people watch Saw films.Special effects are also top-notch and though the filmmakers are quoted as saying they wanted to concentrate less on the gore I would say that gore fans will not walk away disappointed.-Julian Kennedy

The film seemed to undermine its original premise and held the brakes a bit. I’m not sure if they wanted to tone it down a bit, maybe there was a rushed script, or simply they didn’t have as much confidence as they should have but there definitely did need to be a bit more thought into the final product however that being said it’s worth the watch and shows promise for future installments. It’s rough when you do a movie like this that’s attempting to redirect and reshape the future of the franchise so because it has such potential I granted the extra star for a full 4 star rating.- oxreigns

This is one of the least gory of all the Saw movies, which means there’s plenty of blood and gore to be enjoyed/disgusted by. But it’s a little different than the other ones, and honestly, with some more plot holes. They pack a ton of info into such a short edited movie (time went by fast!), so it seems inevitable.- Pain Warrior
