Despite her many accolades for Life of the Party, Melissa McCarthy’s outlandish but relatively benign and hilarious creativity as a comedienne in movies such as Bridesmaids, Identity Thief, Tammy, etc. has in Life of the Party crossed the line from entertainer to demoralizer, and she does so with apparently no regard for her influence on young, impressionable fans who in this film are exposed to the suggestion that just about every kind of occult and Satanic activity is suitable for viewing and intellectual consumption. This film is no comedy, and it is not benign. Unfit for healthy minds.

I enjoyed this movie! Melissa played a very sweet-hearted, sincere character who was true to herself and confident despite being unappreciated. That being said, her character was absolutely hilarious and this movie is absolutely NOT for youth or even teens. It centers on the stereotypical depiction of “college life”, where the focus is not higher education but rather partying, drinking, drugs and casual sexual encounters (in inappropriate places outside of a martial relationship).
