Longmire Season 3
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
It was a LONG wait for season 3. There are so few quality shows these days that when I find one like this 10 or 13 episodes and then a 9 month wait is too long. The White Warrior picked up right were the Season 2 finale left off. This episode was fast paced and did not disappoint. The episode flew by and left me wanting more, more, more. We welcomed back Walt and company and this cast is just stellar! Casting was just so spot on. We also got to see some supporting players that we don’t get to see often enough like Jacob Nighthorse, Mathias, Barlow Connally, and the beautiful New Mexico landscape subbing as Wyoming. The Cinematography on this show is so good. Even the casting on the supporting players and guest stars is stellar. We get to look forward to guest stars Graham Greene and Nia Peeples (Walker Texas Ranger) this season amongst others I’m sure. We got some answers to some of the mysteries from last season but one of the things that makes this show so good is it also brought up more questions. This is a show that you have to pay attention to when watching as little clues that are easily missed are scattered throughout that you may not realize have significance until several episodes later. This show makes you think and is not mindless fluff as so many shows are these days. If you have not watched this show yet give it a try I think you will be surprised how good it is. Start with season 1. A modern day procedural with a western flare with the wide open spaces of the western landscape as a backdrop. If The White Warrior is any indication this should be an amazing season. This show just keeps getting better!

loved the ending of season 3, if I had netflix, I would be able to watch season 4, since they bought the series from the cable channel. It was cancelled because too many “old people” i.e., those over 49 watched it and even though we have more money to spend, we’re considered unworthy as viewers. Ah, the stupidity of studio heads.

This is the “Gunsmoke” of the 21st Century: Longmire is haunted by demons having lost his wife in mysterious circumstances and with a tenuous relationship with his daughter. He is a man by himself to himself – troubled and good with a sense of purpose and honor. His friendship with the local barkeep at times is wordless with a deep mutual understanding and respect. He is silent in the face of unbearable antagonism with the local police at the reservation. His sheriff office staff is loyal save one, a confused and handsome young man who takes umbrage to Longmire’s ways and needs power to confirm his existence. Longmire lets crime, personal struggles, relationships and professional challenges wash over him in silence, always moving, always trying to do the right thing to sometimes failure and sometimes success. It is an excellent program using the surrounding wide and lonely Western landscape as a mirror for Longmire’s character. Because he holds so much inside, there is a quiet edge of your seat quality and intrigue – what will he do, what is he feeling that will motivate him to do it, how will others react?
