Nurse Jackie Season 6

I have watched all six series of Nurse Jackie and have found them all to be equally compelling. This series does not disappoint. Jackie’s life is inbuilt on a complex series of roles–a most excellent nurse, a loving mother, a wife, but most importantly, a drug addict who will lie, cheat or steal to get her next fix. The portrayal of addiction is a true one. It is totally baffling to friends and family as to why she doesn’t “just quit”.Her addiction causes numerous problems in her life and career. The hospital setting is great and the supporting cast of characters are very engaging. I would recommend that anyone who is interested in this series start with series one because the complexities of Jackie’s life unfold from one incident to another through the seasons

As an addict myself, the twists, turns, and depths that Jackie’s character takes to protect her addiction is nearly painful in its accuracy. Edie Falco nails it– the fact that none of her actions are really well thought, they are just a means to the primary end- get high. Get high. Get high.
Love, love , love the cast, although I still miss O’Hara terribly, and can really do without Frank. I know he was necessary for the story line, but could just barely stand his character.

As a health care professional and recovering Addict… who worked many years treating impaired professionals like Jackie… sponsering… attending meetings… etc.. etc… I’m always blown away at the accuracies in this series. Someone has been there an done that! Jackie is very cunning…. this season she shows how toxic an addict can really be! It’s such a great show. Can’t wait for seven but Showtime is a little guarded about Jackie so who knows how long even for pay for view will we wait for season seven… it’s currently airing on showtime ..
