Mariah’s World: Season 1

am almost always late for everything. Iphones. Jane Austen. Cherry Coke. AND THIS! I am a fan of Mariah Carey, absolutely love her, but I never knew she was doing a freaking World Tour. Didn’t know she was doing a freaking reality show. Didn’t know, well… I did know she was engaged to that other guy, we shall not name him Dahlin’. AND I was late to SHIPPING MARIAH AND TANAKA.
So here I am…2 weeks ago, just watching some vids on Mariah. This particular YT user creates vids that focus on Mariah’s singing abilities. Things I never even knew. Mariahs high note thingies, are called whistles.
So, being YT, gotta peruse the comment sections, I follow a link that someone left, talking about Mariah sitting on some guys lap during her concert. So I watch it and i’m like…GUUURRRRRLLLL! Scandalous! Clutch my pearls Mother has arrived! I had never seen Mariah Carey do anything like that. And of course I went back into the comments, looking for the T. The scoop. Find out some guy named Tanaka is her love interest and i’m just like: What?!!! What is going on on this here day? Who is this Tanaka?
Okay. So then I see more comments, these comments came from a Lambily, OH btw, I was late on that too! I AM A LAMBILY! Okay, so this woman knows everything, she is invested, and talking about how this guy was in the picture years ago. The genuine connection the two have. Breaking down where to find which tour it was and year and all this stuff. INVESTED!
So I then see clips from this show…and i’m like O M Baby Jesus! DEAD! I was basically DEAD. So I watch these clips and i’m just like…a side of Mariah we have never really seen before.
2 nights ago I was like…mmm, yeah imma go ahead and just buy this season because I need to watch this whole thing.
And it was absolutely worth it.
MC is just a real person. She’s no doubt a Legend. A Diva. One of the greatest singers of all time. Her songs really touch you to the core. I know she has gone through a lot with her family relationships, relationships with men in her past, relationships with people who betrayed her friendship, kindness. Continuously unfairly judged by the public. She is just a human who has been broken at times…but she continues to persevere.
AND can I just add one more thing? I FREAKING SHIP MARIAH AND TANAKA! They are so adorable, I can’t even! Okay? Do you understand how much I can’t take it?
Is there a Season 2? Please!!! I need more!!!!

Didn’t expect to like it but I wanted to see if I did. At first, I felt Mariah was stiff and very un willing to be open in first few episodes but her diamonds and herself look fabulous nevertheless. I noticed she was executive producer, which means she had finally say on editing so I was not sure what was actually going to make the show. I’m glad she started opening up a little more as the episodes went on and she let us see that. I started to like her as a person more when I saw she was good to her friends. She became more real, with real friends with issues that she was caught in the middle of. She also seems as if a normal world will never be hers due to her level of fame. I was also reminded what a phenomenal singer she is and how much I enjoyed her music. A real talent. So for this sliver of peek into a world tour and its mechanics, I found myself watching all the episodes in one weekend.

I haven’t listened to Mariah since junior high so I wouldn’t call myself a fan. Somehow I got pulled into Mariahs World, I’m not exactly sure how. I loved watching every episode. I loved that her relationship with Tanaka went a different direction, he’s a good guy and they go well together. I’m truly sad they’re no longer a couple, I almost want to start a petition to bring them back together. Come on Mariah, I saw how much he loves you with all his heart! Give him another chance PLEASE.
