Murdoch Mysteries Season 11

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

Five stars to Murdoch Mysteries and ZERO stars to Acorn and Amazon for this bait and switch. On my Amazon video page I saw Murdoch Mysteries Season 11 available with a Acorn subscription. I instantly subscribed to binge watch however much of Season 11 I could this New Year’s. Instead I find ONE episode which aired September 25, 2017. There are at least EIGHT MORE EPISODES which aired on or before December 11, 2017. When Acorn advertises Season 11 they should provide as much of Season 11 as has been aired like HBO or AMC does. Murdoch would get to the bottom of this skullduggery.-A. Howard

It has a wonderful charm to it. At first I didn’t like it, but I hung in there and by season 2 I was hooked. Now, I love it. BOO to ACORNTV for not making the entire Season 11 available at once (for those of us that want to binge-watch). What part of Netflix and Amazon Originals releasing entire seasons of their shows at once do they not understand? They did the same with “A Place to Call Home” and “Love, Lies and Records.” AcornTV needs to stop acting like a old school TV network and start acting like a 21st century VOD platform. They didn’t even bother to say what day of the week new episodes will air. So frustrating. I might just wait until all of season 11 is available to binge on.- Joshua E.
Here’s another eighteen great mysteries, set in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, starting late in the year 1904. In case you don’t remember, Season 10 ended with a cliffhanger and Detective William Murdoch arrested for murder! Not only that, but Brackenreid is a fugitive, Dr. Ogden is hiding from the bad guys and Sergeant Jackson was shot in a botched operation. Station 4 is in such disgrace that it is temporarily shut down. Though I liked all the episodes, I particularly recommend “The Accident” for its drama, “F.L.A.S.H.” for it’s imaginative, if improbable, way of killing someone, and “Game of Kings” for the best knight ever.

If you’ve watched “Murdoch Mysteries” before, you know that one of its hallmarks is bringing in real people and real inventions or discoveries from the time period. My episode synopses are brief, but I’ve tried to point out the “Real” and “New” that I noticed. My list is probably incomplete, so leave a comment to tell me what I missed! Also, running throughout Season 11 is the possibility of Dr. Ogden and Murdoch starting a family. And Murdoch’s closely held religious beliefs also play a more prominent role than usual.
