Sherlock Gnomes (2018)

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

We loved “Gnomeo and Juliet” when it came out. That movie was funny, charming, and had great music. So we were looking forward to the sequel. Sadly, the sequel is a huge disappointment. First, it really has nothing to do with GNOMES. The first movie takes off on the idea of “what would garden gnomes be like or do if they were alive?” Of course, they’d have lawnmower races, among other things. This movie could have been done around just about anything – mice, kittens, dryer lint. There was nothing intrinsic to the idea of “gnomes” in the movie.Of course, there’s also always the problem of what to do with a couple who is happy at the end of the first movie, but now has to feature in a second. So the simple, obvious (and overdone) solution is – they must have a fight, so that they can reconcile by the end of the second movie. The “fight” made no sense, and simply added a dimension of unpleasantness to what was not a particularly charming movie in the first place.- Moira Allen

Slow, disjointed, lacking timing and continuity. A shadow of the original. All “girls-in-charge-and -guys-are-clueless” in additional to thinly veiled homosexual relationships. A very disappointing sequel.- 54mm Napoleonics

My grandson paid to see this movie in the theater. He loves the booty dance scene. I saw it for purchase on Amazon Prime Streaming and watched the trailer to preview scenes from the movie so I knew what I was paying for. I purchased the movie expecting scenes from the original movie and trailer to be in the release. They were cut from the release! There should be a disclaimer when releasing a movie to DVD that scenes were cut so you know what you are paying for!!! I have been trying to contact Amazon for a refund but have been unsuccessful so far.- Palien
