The First Purge

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

Two things first. This is no longer a horror type movie to be honest. Also I can understand why white people would get mad from watch this movie, they kinda made the movie to make it seem like EVERY white person from different nationalities is racist. I’m a black male and I do know that not all white people feel the way as the movie make it seem. However it’s plenty of mostly white cast movies that do the same to black Americans , and in America it has been attempts to dismantle the blacks. ANYWAY! The movie overall was great and really action packed. I think the purge need to pull back from making it seem like the government will only aim for the lower class if the purge was to ever happen, I do think if it became a true event they will target all except the extremely wealthy who’s in control. So we as most would need to stand together.-Robby Smiley.

I couldn’t get through the first 30 minutes of melodrama (*angst and bad acting) without having to question where the usual tension to set the scene for the disturbing violence of later that makes us question our vales and the principles laid on them. The preceding movies had stories where you cared what happened to the core actors not shook your head at the stereotypes that continued to persist at the first act. This was supposed to be the film that generated the genesis of the purge experiment not make you sit back lower in your seat and sigh. I literally had to stop the film after the 30 minutes mark it was that bad. If I was watching Vikings, heads would have been decapitated by now!- Erika

I see a lot of comments talking about “This movie sucks, they are being divisive”, or “this movie is racist,” blah blah blah. This movie shows the purge from the perspective of poor black and brown people and I like it. Where was all of this outrage when the first purge movie came out and it starred rich white people? People are clearly triggered by this but anything that makes some people uncomfortable most be close to the truth. And FYI to all of you “purge fans”, this racial theme is in ALL OF THE MOVIES! Out of all the purge movies this one ranks second best for me (election year is first!).- Tiffany
