The Huntsman: Winter’s War
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
I do respect others’ opinions and I realize some critics gave this movie a low rating. I don’t agree with them at all! This was a great production! Awesome! I preferred this film over Snow White and the Huntsman, although that was a very good film, too, with Kristen Stewart. The action scenes in The Huntsman: Winter’s War were much more vibrant and exciting. I especially loved the roles of the Dwarves played by: Nick Frost, Rob Brydon, Sheridan Smith, and Alexandra Roach. They were fantastic, and talk about funny! I thoroughly enjoyed them the most to be honest. Very impressive performances! I hope to see them in many more projects.
Chris Hemsworth was great as usual and Jessica Chastain rocks! That part was made for her. Cherlize Theron was awesome even though her English accent faltered at times; doesn’t matter, she definitely had presence and she exuded a lot of emotion. Chris’ accent was a bit confusing for me to make out at times, but I love his deep, booming voice and he’s nice to look at, too! As far as accents go, if you can’t pull it off than stick with your own! You can mix it up nowadays, can’t you? Emily Blunt was exceptional. I’ve seen her in many other films where she has done American accents, and she nails it each time. Whoever chose this cast did a splendid job. Seeing Sam Claflin in this project was an added plus. His diction is perfect! Doesn’t hurt to enunciate now and then, and he always does! Sope Dirisu was super great and I’d like to see more of him.
The storyline was intriguing and finally made sense to me. No need for me to elaborate. The children were fabulous–the extras were as well. I always like to see what’s going on in the background of any given movie especially when you have lots of extras on hand and, in this case, they each did their parts, gestures, expressions very well; and no one looked into the camera either! LOL! They were in sync with the main characters.
The action scenes were visibly well-done. You could actually see everything they were doing unlike other movie scenes whereby it moves so fast and it all seems garbled and muted. Not in this film. Special effects were great as was the soundtrack.
This is one of my favorite action films and it will be a great classic one day! I’m giving it a 5-star rating! I hope they all come back for yet another sequel!-Italia47
I really really enjoyed this movie. I don’t see why everyone was bashing it so much. Was a bit predictable? Yes, but aren’t all movies? I have to admit, Freya is my favorite character. Emily Blunt just portrays her and her emotions-or lack thereof-so well! And the banter between the dwarves and the Huntsmen is hilarious. The fight scenes are pretty cool too. And the ending is quite….emotional, but a good ending. You will be pleased with it.- DizzyKat
The tone and art of this film reminded me of the tone of that old Tom Cruise movie “Legend”… very ethereal and fanciful. The very end was more similar in tone to the original Snow White movie, a bit more scary. I don’t think it was any more scary than The Force Awakens, so if your kids liked that this won’t be traumatizing. Charlize Theron isn’t in the movie very much; It’s mostly a Chris Hemsworth vehicle. I also thought the set and architectural design of the Ice Queen’s castle was very beautiful; very reminiscent of Medieval Viking architecture but a bit more airy and magical. The costumes were all very detailed and clever. A pleasant movie to watch on a lazy Sunday afternoon. PS: I thought the dwarves, especially Rob Brydon and Sheridan Smith, really stole the show. Maybe they’ll make a spin-off?-L. R. Boyev
