The Middle Season Five
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
We can’t get enough of this show. Our kids have even started watching and recording the reruns. So many sitcoms are filled with sexual innuendos that it makes it hard to even have the tv on in the evening. While this show isn’t perfect, it’s better than others on broadcast tv. I’m not a fan of how the kids sometimes talk to the parents. I do love that Frankie and Mike are REAL parents with real struggles. They make me feel better about my own finances and organizational skills. So often, my husband and I are laughing and the kids don’t get it. We understand their struggles!! And even though they get fast food every night, they eat it together, usually at the table. Now that is rare in today’s households. Did I mention it’s just plain FUNNY? That Sue fails and fails but keeps trying. When my kids keep practicing their gymnastics, they cheer each other on and remind themselves that Sue keeps trying. So sweet.- Jenny May Shannon
I’d never been much of a Patricia Heaton fan, so had never watched “The Middle” in its first-run network airings, as she was the most prominent person in the cast and seemingly the star in the advertising I’d seen for the show. Then a few months ago it went to syndicated showings locally and was everywhere, at multiple hours of the day–so I happened to watch a few episodes when nothing else was on and found myself truly surprised by the show and the great ensemble cast, not to mention the stunt casting of what seems like dozens of comedic actors I have loved over the years in small guest roles (teachers, neighbors, extended family members, some in even the tiniest of roles). It constantly surprises me with its take on family life and life in general, and is often very observant and even insightful–in endlessly funny ways. I also was surprised to learn how funny Patricia is–and how great a physical comedian she is. She really lets loose in this show, and her commitment to the show’s zanier physical moments are very amusing. I’m hooked, and have already bought two seasons of the show, finding it even better with repeated viewings. While I now love all the characters, I’ve decided my favorite is daughter Sue, played by Eden Sher–she’s a genuine live-wire, and the character is not only comedic gold, but can be very touching and sweet, too.-CoasterFan
As usual I love this season as well as all the others. I will comment on the physical packaging though- this looks like a bootleg version. The discs and packaging are nothing like seasons 1-4 and there are no special features or subtitles. That being said- they play just as well as all the other seasons. No issues at all with the discs and no difference in picture quality. I find it interesting though that this set is so much more expensive than the others on prime.-tflann88
