The Strain 1-4: The Complete Series

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

I bought this series on july 14 2018. I just started to watch it and it’s missing Episodes, all threw the 4 seasons. It’s to late for me to return. How I know? Well I had seen all 4 seasons before buying. Also on the beginning of every episode it show what happened in the previous episode. In all the dvds it shows previous things that I did not see on the previous dvd but I remember from the show. Do not buy this-Joey

I give this series 5 stars for lack of the ability to administer a 4.5 star review, because it certainly doesn’t deserve less than that. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoyed Del Toro’s vampire vision in Blade 2, because this is essentially that, but with a cast of humanized characters (read; imperfect) trying to fight an ancient evil. I like the slow burn to the first several episodes- i.e. rather than trying to throw every character into a singular group in the pilot, the characters are fleshed out and slowly brought together over a multi episode arc.

These vampires definitely aren’t from Bram Stoker. Del Toro adds his own unique style and lore, making for a more disgusting creature that, unlike some savvy Cruise or Pitt, you actually want to hate. I could go on, but suffice to say if you enjoy his other work, this series is a must own.

Basically a twist on Vampires. The main character is a moron from the CDC (meaning the character not the actor. He actually does a good job playing the part given), but otherwise the rest of the cast does a great job. The first season is very creepy and then it goes on from there, but it’s a good watch.
