Babylon 5: The Movies

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

Though I was born halfway through this show’s original run, thanks to my dad purchasing it on VHS and making me watch it growing up, it’s somewhere in my top three favorite shows. If you’re reading this, you’re probably familiar with it. If not, well…The story is great. There are minor details, lines in season one that have repercussions all the way until season four. The special effects are terrible nowadays, and you can easily tell what was shot on film and what was shot digitally, especially in earlier seasons, so when you see the screen get slightly pixelated, you know someone’s gonna pull out a laser gun or use space magic or something. I imagine this wasn’t too apparent on TVs of the time, but if watching this on an HDTV, it’s painfully obvious. The CGI gets significantly better over time, though, as does the film quality. And the story.- David the Wavid

While this is an officially licensed film, it is NOT Babylon 5 as you know it. They throw some B5 jargon into the beginning and pasted a shot of the Babylon 5 station on the last frame of the film – but that’s it. This movie in no way lives up to the title “Legend of the Rangers”. No White Stars in sight, but cheesy acting abounds. The story line doesn’t jive well with the backstory of the Shadow War and G’Kar is written like a caricature of himself. If you are a super-fan and want to see EVERYTHING Babylon 5, you can safely skip this movie – you won’t miss a thing! Keep your money, only watch this if it’s free and you want to waste 90 minutes of your life that you can never get back.- UnexpectedCure
