Dragon Ball Z Kai:The Final Chapters – Part Two [Blu-ray]

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

If you’re a Dragon Ball fan, you know what you’re getting into. Good action, some genuinely funny and touching moments, decent writing, solid voice acting, and absolutely atrocious pacing. Half of the content could be cut without damaging the plot. You really need to be a fan to stick through it.-JJ

I have been a fan of Dragonball going on 20years. This final version of Kai is pretty good, and seems to get better as it goes along. Although it was overall a lot better than the original English dub of Dragonball Z, it still wasn’t perfect. Sometimes the dialogue was a bit silly and the language could have been a little stronger at times too. The Japanese voice acting was also better the first time around (opposite for English). I was also surprised the Kai version was able to drag out one saga over 68 episodes. In the first round of Kai, the edits were better and the story was faster paced, while this one remained only slightly faster than the original. The soundtrack takes some getting used to as well, especially if you have been a fan of the original for a long time. I liked the first round of Kai a bit more, but this is still worth it for any Dragonball Z fan for sure.- Jake H.

What I like most about the Kai series is that Funimation removed the ‘fluff’ from the story line. Quite a bit of what happens that really doesn’t advance the story has been taken out which allows the action to be a lot more of a non stop part of the series. Brand new dialog – with a lot more ‘adult’ dialog in there as well – makes it more enjoyable to watch too. I have always loved watching DBZ and I enjoy DBZ Kai just as much and in many ways more.-lanmanjs
