It’s unwise to judge on one episode, but World On Fire wears its ambition confidently. It looks expensive and beautiful, with its overcoats and hats and steam trains

In a week where streaming services will make the headlines, World on Fire is a reminder that the Beeb does this kind of thing better than anyone else.
