Early Man – UK Region

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

This isn’t my favorite Aardman production, as it feels somewhat mired or stilted in the “football” / soccer theme of misfits overcome pros through strength of acceptance. It’s not a bad theme to impart to children, but it is tiring, and not very inventive in terms of how said theme was delivered to the audience.I was expecting more of a bronze age values meets caveman values, and more of a generational humor based film than one that focused on Europe’s favorite team sport. I think if the schism between the old fashioned and newer bronze age society had been played up, then you would have had a better film. As it is now it’s merely okay, but still worth seeing at least once.- Raisuli the Magnificent

I decided to give watching Early Man film a chance after my sweet husband expressed an interest in seeing this film. Early Man ended up being more watchable than I expected and it was fun watching this with my husband. The film has some laughs as one group/tribe competes with another group via a sports game. The caveat to this stop motion film is that a person has to look past their preference for historical accuracy for Early Man.- Stella Carrier
