DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
This is a great collection we had seen on TV, but the retail Time-Life price was out of our budget. Fortunately, another purchaser was selling a once-used set for about half the retail price. There were a couple of small cracks in the cases, but we usually buy CDs primarily to load onto the iPod, so the cases will be filed for possible in-house use and the minor imperfections didn’t matter. The songs are recorded by the original artists and many are no longer available, so this collection filled in many of the memories of the period that we didn’t have. Recommend highly, some of the songs are what my husband calls “one-hit wonders” so trying to purchase individual CDs that included all of these songs (even if available) would have required us to buy music we don’t like just to get the specific songs we wanted. If you’re of our vintage (60 & 67), you will enjoy the trip down memory lane.-Randi442
After purchasing Singers & Songwriters, I put the box set in my car and randomly selected CDs for each drive I made. I was not disappointed. These were the collective hits of the 70’s by the original artists in high quality format and it reminded me of a time when music was memorable and words meant something. There are 11 CDs in the set but to purchase the hits of these artists on seperate discs would be prohibitive and let’s face it…greatest hit albums by individual artists often contain several duds or novelty songs that most of us immediately skip. Not so with this set…every song will take you back and remind you that once, not that long ago, it was music and not glitzy production that helped to define who we were.-William J. James
Great sounding selection of oldies/goodies. Great value for the collection. Price here is much better than the online Sony store. This was a gift to my husband and he plays this collection a lot off of his ipod and off the AppleTV. He gets hours of listening enjoyment from this set and sometimes I catch him singing along. That’s always a good thing for someone as serious as he is.- omehra
