Archer: Danger Island – Season 9
DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:
Can’t say that I dislike it. Definitely felt very short and like this whole Cyril as the villain, Lahna as the love interest, Pam as the sidekick, Mallory as the owner, feels a little played out over the past two seasons. It worked in the past when they didn’t have to reintroduce everyone, and I felt like it just had a better flow when the characters were more familiar with each other. But these past two seasons feel a little too “copy-paste”, something Archer has been historically known not to do. The past seasons (before 8&9) all had the same character structure, but I was less of a focus in the general plotline like it was more about the story, and the character hierarchy just served to put each character in the best fitting place. Now it just kinda feels like they’re focusing more on how the story fits in with the character, which might be the reason why the past two season have been rather bland, and nearly the same. But again, I love watching anything Archer, but being that every season prior to this deserves a 4+, I feel as if this is a rather large step in the wrong direction.

It was fine, but not really up to archer’s usual standard. The animation is killer, but the story and writing kinda suck now. It also kinda sucks knowing nothing really matters in the current seasons; nothing’s really gained from watching this.

I’ve been a huge fan of archer since season 1 and I made it a thing to collect each season on blu ray. They stopped making them on blu ray several seasons ago which is always disappointing, the quality is noticeable to me and I wish they would make it again, I feel like if I’m going to pay for a disk it should be the best quality, that being said good season just shorter than usual and I wish they would continue the real story line with the characters and wake archer up but still good
