Dragon Ball Super Part Four

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

The fourth volume of Dragon Ball Super on home video wraps up one saga, has some “filler” material (though there is not an original manga from which the story is drawing, so the “filler” classification is a bit questionable), and the beginning of the next major arc all in one set.
The preceding volume covered the Universe 6 vs. Universe 7 Tournament arc, and due to unfortunate episode counts on these sets, the final episode of that arc, Episode 39, got cut off and was saved for this time. It is a bit annoying, and it is a recurring complaint among consumers, but Funimation is steadfastly sticking to the 13 episodes/volume release schedule.-XZero.

I love this show! Like many people who’s seen DBZ in the past it’s been nostalgic for me to watch Dragon Ball Super. The Future Trunks arc is what really drew me into the series and it’s nice to finally own a copy of the first part on Blu-ray. I noticed that the box sleeve on this release is not holographic as the previous three so there’s no cool effects going in the artwork unfortunately. Also the disc cover is adorable, did not really expect both young Trunks and Mai to appear on them. Overall I’d recommend this to any fan who is not convinced that DBS is a series worth watching!-Erickson S.

Dragon Ball Super continues covering new ground. Unlike the first two sets, this is not retelling the events of a movie, this is the start of a new arc (as well as the end of the Universe 6 arc). The animation, character designs, action, and new ideas introduced are all great and welcome additions to the universe (multiverse). If you are a fan this is a great continuation of the series, however, this isn’t the best point of entry for the uninitiated. To be fair though, none of Super is a good introduction to the franchise since the first couple arcs were based on movies which were heavy in fan service. This is actually the beginning of my least favorite part of Super. – Six20Seven
