The Fate of the Furious – UK Region

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

I’ve really liked all of the Furious movies except for the second and fourth ones, and I particularly liked 5 through 7 with the Rock, so I looked forward to this one. I actually quite liked it right up until the end. No spoilers here…the end didn’t upset me, but rather it felt incomplete like it should have lasted longer but they just stopped. I’m happy to see that they plan another two movies, as they need to wrap some stuff up.

If you’re looking for some nice car action, this won’t disappoint. If you’re also looking for some absurd vehicle action…well, this won’t disappoint. 🙂 Hey, it’s a Furious movie, after all. Former street racers are now super agents saving the world. Who would have guessed it 16 years ago? That part aside, it’s a fun ride most of the time and a nice action movie. Sure, you need to ignore reality occasionally (well, often), but it’s still fun.

There’s certainly a bit of a twist when it comes to one of the characters from a previous movie, but I liked it.

Outside of the ending, which felt lacking but didn’t totally suck, the movie as a whole was engaging and fun to watch. If you liked the others, I recommend this one.

Like the others it’s action packed from beginning to end. We all know from the trailers that Dom goes rogue. What the what? I couldn’t believe it either but there’s always a reason why he does what he does. If this is the end of Fast and Furious Franchise, then it’s a great way for them to go out IMO. Who would’ve thought that first movie would be a such a success and bring everyone so far? There’s been other car racing movies that have tried to copy FF but these actors really are a family. It’s that spark, that click or whatever, that makes you feel like you are watching something real. I love that at the core it’s all about the family and that’s what we all need. Although I was looking forward to another street fight with Jason Statham, The Rock and Vin Diesel because you just can’t have too many of those!

Only thing negative I have to say is that Charlize Theron’s story line/plot whatever didn’t seem to be strong enough to me as compared to all the past 7 films. It’s doesn’t have enough intensity or something without saying any spoilers. I expected more from that plot line and it’s just not there. I mean in the past you have cars falling out of planes, people jumping across bridges and landing on a car and a car getting crushed by a frickin TANK! Let’s not forget jumping a car between all 3 buildings in Abadabadoo (I don’t care how it’s spelled you know where I mean if you kept up) and barely stopping in time on the edge. How about when Stathem rammed Vin Diesel’s car head on or when he blasting The Rock out of a building and put him in the hospital. The word sumbetch gets really on my nerves bc it sounds so fake coming out of his mouth. Am I the only one who has really noticed that? Surely not. Point is that there’s not this huge adrenaline rush like that in FF8! Did I miss it or something? Don’t get me wrong, I loved the movie. I just was expecting something major over the top of FF7. IDK Maybe it wasn’t possible to top FF7 because it had so much action?
