Lucifer Season 3 UK Region

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

How fitting is it that corporate GREED, one of the seven deadly sins, destroys Lucifer?

Don’t know why I am bothering to ask for this show to be saved considering FOX’s track record with killing amazing shows. So many shows have been axed before they really had the opportunity to shine, two of my favorite being Firefly and Almost Human. Both of these shows only got 1 season and yet were adored by fans all over the world.

I haven’t owned cable for over a decade now. I watch everything on Netflix and Amazon Instant Video. I look forward to the day when the decrepit people in the cable industry die off ushering in an era where more shows move over to streaming services. No one cares about your ads cable company. While you circle jerk yourselves over ad revenue, us mere mortals want to relax and enjoy a story without being interrupted every 5 mins. We have our own lives to live and choose to watch shows when it is convenient for us.

Amazon. Please pick up Lucifer. You would be the perfect platform for this excellent show.

Who says it’s only his adversary that can do resurrections? When Fox canceled LUCIFER, I was seriously pissed, what with Season 3’s 24th episode ending on a massive cliffhanger. But then Netflix stepped in and picked up the show. So, somewhere down the pipe, we can look forward to a Season 4 comprising ten episodes.

But how was Season 3? It was okay. It was good. It had its moments. It also carried thru storylines that I didn’t give a what about. Like the entire Sinnerman arc. Like various fallings out. Like a romantic triangle among side characters that had me chafing.

It’s inevitable that Lucifer’s beef with his pops would tinge the show with an overwrought, angsty tone. It’s just that I get super-impatient whenever Lucifer waxes melodramatic about his heavenly pops, or free will, or what the ef is up with my wings, or why can’t I assume my Devil face, boo-freakin’-hoo. What lured me to the show when it first came on was Morningstar’s wicked playfulness and, also, the sly premise of the Devil is in Los Angeles solving crimes. I’m not here for LUCIFER done à la telenovela.

With BONES and CASTLE gone, Lucifer and Detective Chloe Decker just may be the best couple on network tv. What makes them work as a team is that they’re such complete opposites that they perfectly balance each other out. And there’s no fatigue yet on their “will they, won’t they” tension. Of course, it’s only a matter of time before the writers test their sometimes unspecified relationship. So, cue Chloe’s broody new lieutenant, Marcus Pierce (Tom Welling).

Given, LUCIFER isn’t as out there, doesn’t push the boundary as much as PREACHER. It’s inhibited by the constraints of the police procedural and its being broadcast on a primetime network. Except, by virtue of Lucifer’s being who he is and the appalling (yet hilarious) stuff he says and his bouts of debauchery, I’m sure the show’s gotten its share of bellyaching from the prude brigade, so it must be doing something right. Third season in, the characters in this diverse roster continue to show growth and development. For instance, the flawed celestial figures on the show – Lucifer, Amenadiel, and Mazikeen – are every day forced to examine the nature of humanity and how these discoveries reflect back on them. As for the mere mortals, Dan – or “Detective Douche” – has won me over (he’s very sympathetic this season), Ella the medical examiner keeps infusing an appealing quirk to the show, and it’s awesome that Tricia Helfer’s shady attorney gets brought more into the fold and has even snagged her own thru-arc.

But the main story arc has to do with Lucifer’s wings and how that informs his search for the Sinnerman. And, of course, you wouldn’t bring in Tom Welling and not have a significant part for him to play (although, it’d be funny if you did). Thing is, I didn’t care much for any of those plot threads mentioned above. In fact, my favorite episodes in Season 3 don’t much have to do with those main storylines. So, what bomb episodes are these?

Maybe some plot spoilers.

– “Vegas with Some Radish” (3×6) – “I’m Lucifer Morningstar. I can play the piano, and I’m a fancy British man,” says a mocking and plastered Chloe while on the piano. It’s Chloe’s birthday, but Lucifer and Ella instead go to Vegas to look into the disappearance of Lucifer’s fake wife, Candy.

– “Off the Record” (3×7) – It’s the saga of Dr. Linda Martin’s estranged reporter husband, and you should wait for the Twilight Zone twist.

– “City of Angels?” (3×11) – It’s a flashback episode and my favorite episode: In 2011, Lucifer deserts Hell for Los Angeles; Chloe is a beat cop still married to Dan; Lux is an MMA arena; and a porn star may have just swayed Lucifer by telling him, “If you really want to rebel, go to L.A.” Be on the lookout for fun little callbacks, like Lucifer watching High School Hot Tub and the start of Taco Tuesday.

– “A Devil of My Word” (3×24) – The Season 3 finale in which certain plot threads are excitingly wrapped up but a game-changing cliffhanger leaves us anticipating the next season.

By the way, Season 3 comes with two bonus episodes that were intended to slot into the fourth season on Fox before news of the cancelation ruined everyone’s day. Fox subsequently aired these two episodes (3×25 and 3×26) on May 18, 2018: “Boo Normal” (in which Ella is haunted by a childhood ghost) and “Once Upon A Time” (in which God posits an alternate timeline for our cast).

How can anyone not love Lucifer? Great acting and fun writing. Lucifer is a brash, confident character who nevertheless has a strong sense of right and wrong regarding people hurting one another. He is a playboy who does not discriminate when it comes to partners (women, men, demons… it’s all good.) Yet he shows flashes of vulnerability, especially where a certain female cop is involved. And all the supporting characters are just as fun to watch. Great show!
