Nashville The Final Season UK region

DVD Wholesale Quick Overview:

Nashville was one of the best shows that came along back in 2012. As someone who was not into American Country music at all, it was a great inside look at the music industry, had great characters, great songs, and great drama. Then it got axed at the end of season four. Great news came out that another network was relaunching it, but season 5 was nowhere near as good as it’s predecessors music or plot wise. With season six being released under the title Nashville Final Season, you knew that the writers knew this thing was ending, so were hoping they’d send the characters out with some great storylines and also great songs. Unfortunately the final season is just a show that views like it’s going through the motions. There weren’t any great songs at all. The best were by a new character. Not much happens, there’s a lot of internal family, friendship or relationship frustrations but that’s pretty much it. Other than Juliet becomes the target for recruitment by a cult, and Deacon decides to hook up with a character from a past season who comes with an ex husband who is country music record label version of Weinstein so we have very predictable Me Too Movement script playing out over the season. Deacon also has to deal with his father turning up and wanting to be a grandfather in the lives of Maddie and Daphne. Unfortunately the old man actor looks nothing like the one who plays his father when Deacon was a child. Maddie starts dating a guy who obviously supposed to be like Bieber and Daphne wants to audition for a country music American Idol style show.

I did like the new purple haired character Allanah (Rainee Blake) it’s a shame she didn’t come along in earlier seasons so we could have seen (and heard music of), more of her. They really missed out on doing much with the whole cult thing, which therefore gave us a watered down Juliet Barnes for the final season. The final episode is a bit odd, Clare Bowen’s real life husband turns up at one stage, Scarlett kisses him and walks off with him holding hand, was this supposed to be in the episode or just an out take during rehearsals that was missed? Then we have the final minutes, that also don’t make any sense for the storyline, since we have a zombie and a shunning the public life hermit join in during a concert performance. Why not just end the storyline, and have the cast come together and perform a final song together?
